This Week in Rio de Janeiro, the COP30 Presidency Strengthens Alliances for the Implementation of Climate Solutions
With a focus on climate finance and the transition to a low-carbon future, Rio Nature & Climate Week also reinforces the six pillars of the Global Climate Action Agenda, which guide concrete solutions to accelerate the implementation of the Paris Agreement. These pillars integrate actions on energy transition, nature protection, sustainable food systems, climate resilience, human development and social inclusion, as well as the mobilization of finance, technology, and capacity-building.

As part of its efforts to advance the implementation of global climate commitments, the COP30 Presidency is participating in Rio Nature & Climate Week, taking place from June 1–6, 2026, in Rio de Janeiro.
Bringing together business leaders, government officials, academia, youth representatives, and civil society voices, the event serves as a platform to strengthen collaboration around key priorities of the Global Climate Action Agenda, including climate finance, energy transition, biodiversity, food systems, halting deforestation, and building resilience to climate impacts.
The discussions are closely aligned with the pillars of the Global Climate Action Agenda launched by COP30 to accelerate implementation of the first Global Stocktake under the Paris Agreement:
(1) Transitioning energy, industry, and transport;
(2) Stewarding forests, oceans, and biodiversity;
(3) Transforming of agriculture and food systems;
(4) Buildinging resilience for cities, infrastructure, and water;
(5) Fortering human and social development;
(6) Unleashing enablers and accelerators, including on financing, technology, and capacity building.
According to Dan Ioschpe, High-Level Climate Champion of COP30, Brazil is leading climate action by promoting the implementation of concrete solutions, such as the development of financing mechanisms to protect and restore tropical forests, the improvement of water management systems, and the decarbonization of transport corridors. "Since COP30, companies, cities, and civil society have significantly accelerated the implementation of the Climate Action Agenda solutions, demonstrating that the Agenda is in full motion to promote sustainable socioeconomic development. The Rio Nature & Climate Week will be a key moment to showcase what is already being done and, above all, to accelerate and scale up the implementation of existing solutions", he highlights.
