Circle of Presidents

The Circle of Presidents of COP30 will draw on the legacy of the COPs held since COP21 in 2015 to seek solutions for the implementation of the Paris Agreement and to strengthen multilateralism and global climate governance.
Laurent Fabius, President of COP21, lead the Circle, who oversaw the negotiations of the Paris Agreement, and brings together nine Presidents of Climate Conferences from 2015 to 2024.
The Circle's main theme is climate governance, both current and future. Dialogue topics include the role of multilateral organizations, the action agenda related to the UNFCCC, and financing to mitigate climate change.
The first meeting took place in Bonn, Germany, during the 62nd Session of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies for Implementation (SBI) and for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA). The second was held on August, 21.
