Step-by-Step Guide: How to Apply for a COP30 e-Visa

1. Confirm Your Eligibility

  • Ensure that your registration for COP30 is confirmed in the UNFCCC Online Registration System (ORS).
  • Verify that your nationality requires a visa to enter Brazil.

2. Access the COP30 e-Visa Application Portal

3. Prepare the Required Documents

  • Before starting your application, ensure you have the following documents ready:
    • A recent passport-style photograph with a white background (International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standard).
    • A colour copy of the biodata page of your valid passport (ordinary, official/service, laissez-passer, diplomatic or United Nations laissez-passer).
    • A copy of your COP30 UNFCCC Acknowledgement Letter.

4. Complete the COP30 e-Visa Application

  • Fill out the online application form with accurate and complete information.
  • Upload all required documents as attachments.

5. Submit Your Application

  • Review all information carefully before submitting.
  • Submit the application through the COP30 e-Visa portal.

6. Await Processing

  • Processing may take up to ten (10) working days.
  • Notifications regarding the status of your application will be sent to the e-mail address provided.

7. Receive Your COP30 e-Visa

  • Once approved, your COP30 e-Visa will be sent electronically.
  • It is advisable to bring a printed copy of your visa.

8. Entry into Brazil

  • Present your COP30 e-Visa along with your passport at immigration control.
  • Ensure that your period of stay does not exceed the authorized duration and validity.

Important Notes:

  • The COP30 e-Visa is valid until 31 December 2025.
  • It permits multiple entries into Brazil during the validity period. Participants under the age of 18 are required to apply for a visa through the standard procedure at Brazilian diplomatic missions or consular posts abroad.
