Porto de Outeiro and the new fast-access bridge to Parque da Cidade to be inaugurated in the coming days
To ensure mobility and comfort for all COP30 delegations, the route between the Porto de Outeiro and the Blue Zone will feature free and continuous transportation, with an estimated travel time of approximately 30 minutes

Belém will receive two strategic infrastructure projects this and next week, crucial for the successful hosting of COP30: the fast-access bridge connecting the Porto de Outeiro to the event venues—scheduled for delivery on Saturday, October 18—and the fully revitalized Porto de Outeiro, slated for inauguration on October 24.
The Federal Government, through the Special Secretariat for COP30 (SECOP) and Brazilian Agency for International Tourism Promotion (Agência Brasileira de Promoção Internacional do Turismo/EMBRATUR), completed the hiring of two cruise ships in July as temporary lodging units for COP30. The vessels will remain docked at the Porto de Outeiro, and the new bridge will ensure quick access — estimated at approximately 30 minutes — between the terminal and the official conference venues.
Accommodation reservations are already available on the official COP30 website, including options on cruise ships offering around 4,500 beds in comfortable cabins. Together, the two new infrastructures will guarantee lodging and mobility for both national and international delegations during COP30.
Transportation from the port to the Blue Zone, the main venue of the event, will be provided by official COP30 buses, operating continuously and free of charge. The route — less than 20 km long — will use exclusive BRT lanes and the new fast-access bridge, built by the State Government to improve mobility.
After the conference concludes, the Porto de Outeiro will become a permanent part of Belém’s cruise tourism route, strengthening the region’s economy and tourism potential. The project stands out as one of the main legacy initiatives of the conference for Belém’s regional development.

Porto de Outeiro
Located in the metropolitan region of Belém, the Porto de Outeiro is undergoing a complete revitalization, transforming it into a terminal capable of receiving large cruise ships that will serve as floating accommodation for COP30 participants. The project — which involved 713 workers — includes the construction of a new 710-meter pier and supporting passenger infrastructure. After COP30, the port will remain active for maritime tourism and regional logistics, consolidating Belém as a hub for large vessels.
