COP30 mounts a large-scale security and emergency operation in the Amazon with over 800 professionals
A total of 628 security agents, 120 firefighters, and 62 emergency brigade personnel were deployed, supported by nearly 300 security cameras, four medical stations, and additional equipment

COP30 brought together in Belém an unprecedented operational force to ensure public safety, protection, and services throughout the twelve days of the Conference. A total of 628 security agents from the National Force, the Institutional Security Office, the Northern Command, and private security teams were deployed, along with 120 firefighters and 62 emergency brigade personnel assigned across the Blue Zone and the Green Zone.
The operation was strengthened by 297 cameras, four medical stations, and a decompression room offering psychological and psychiatric support, creating an integrated prevention and response system.

The Conference also included:
• 674 cleaning staff (427 in the Blue Zone and 247 in the Green Zone)
• 10 restaurants and 62 food kiosks
• Technical teams operating continuously
• Communal areas, thematic pavilions, cultural arenas, and negotiation spaces
According to COP30 Extraordinary Secretary Valter Correia, the scale of the operation reflects Brazil’s commitment to delivering a high-standard Conference. “In just a few months, we built a structure capable of receiving tens of thousands of people per day, with safety, comfort, and efficiency. The Amazon showed the world its capacity for leadership and organization in global mega-events,” he said.
More than half a million entries
Throughout the Conference, COP30 recorded 513,848 entries across the Blue and the Green Zones, establishing itself as one of the most attended editions in recent years. The Blue Zone received 42,582 participants from 195 countries, reaching a peak of 23,006 people on 11 November, while the Green Zone saw strong daily attendance from visitors, youth, researchers, and traditional peoples.
Large-scale infrastructure
Held across a total area of 550 thousand square meters, COP30 required the construction of an infrastructure comparable to a temporary city, with climate control, energy, mobility, security, technology, and service systems operating continuously.
