Reporter 1: With 100 days to go until COP30, Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago and CEO Ana Toni spoke with Brazilian and international journalists about the event. Corrêa reaffirmed that Belém will host COP30 and assured that the Brazilian government has been taking the necessary steps to ensure quality accommodations for all event participants.

André Corrêa do Lago: It’s an incredible city, the right place to host COP30. I have always expressed that. The government is working very actively and decisively to ensure that all countries can participate in the COP; but we need to ensure that they can attend, because naturally, as a developing country, Brasil wants an inclusive COP. We obviously want all member countries of the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement to attend.

Reporter 2: Regarding the Tropical Forests Forever Fund (TFFF), the ambassador emphasized that the structure of the instrument has been under development since Dubai and has made significant progress.

André Corrêa: The TFFF has exceptional characteristics and has been considered extraordinary by both recipient and donor countries. Now we must move on to a very important stage, which is when the first funds will be allocated so we can reach the amounts necessary for it to become fully effective.

Reporter 1: The inclusive nature of COP30, reflected in the phrase 'climate task force,' was also highlighted during the interview by CEO Ana Toni.

Ana Toni: We are now witnessing the organization of meetings convened by state governors, structured around biomes. In addition, a series of Action Agendas and COP30 Weeks are being held in key locations, including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, London, and soon, New York. As envisioned from the outset, viewing the COP as a process that naturally culminates in Belém—but it is a collective effort.

Reporter 2: Another topic discussed was the Roadmap from Baku to Belém, aimed at reaching US$1.3 trillion in climate financing.

André: This is the amount that highly respected economists, deeply committed to this issue, have concluded must be transferred from involved countries to developing nations. In fact, President Lula has consistently emphasized a point on which all developing countries are in agreement.

Reporter 1: Still on the topic of accommodation, the Presidency announced that the platform cop30.bnetwork.com is now available for booking. There are over 2,700 options, including traditional hotel chains, apartments and seasonal condominium homes, as well as private residences available exclusively during COP30. In addition, COP30 will also offer two cruise ships docked at the Port of Outeiro, providing approximately 3,900 cabins.
