Brazil Unveils COP30 Commemorative Stamp Series in Belém
The Brazilian Postal Service’s special issue celebrates the knowledge, technologies, and practices shaping a sustainable future

By Correios, the Brazilian Postal Service
Correios, the National Postal Service, launched the Special Postal Issue “COP30 – United Nations Climate Change Conference” at the Brazil Pavilion in the conference’s Blue Zone in Belém, Pará.
The issuance comprises a series of five stamps that visually convey Brazil’s commitment to a just ecological transition. Each stamp corresponds to a thematic pillar: Ancestral Laboratory, Riverside Innovation, Global Collective Effort, Winds That Sow, and Urban Climate Justice. The illustrations blend artisanal and digital techniques to depict the diversity of Brazilian knowledge systems, technologies, and territorial practices geared toward sustainability.
According to Correios Business Director Hilton Rogério Cardoso, the initiative highlights the core issues under discussion at COP30. “Stamps immortalize moments that shape people’s history. With this issue—rooted in the ancestral knowledge of Indigenous peoples—the company will mark the first COP ever hosted in Brazil, in the Amazon. Correios will bring a memento of this historic event to the entire country and the world,” Cardoso said.
Among the guests at the launch was Mr. João Paulo Capobianco, Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA), who commended the state-owned enterprise and the illustrator for the initiative. “I am deeply pleased by this tribute, which will allow everyone to use these stamps and remember this remarkable event — a major achievement for Brazil, for the people of Pará, and for the people of Belém,“ he concluded.

Attending Thursday’s ceremony were Mauro O’de Almeida, Partnership Coordinator at the Special Secretariat for COP30 (SECOP); Telma Teixeira, Cooperation Coordinator at the Organization of Ibero-American States; and Mari Carvalho, also from SECOP, who created the illustrations.
On Wednesday (12), during a visit to a Correios branch in Belém, Communications Minister Frederico de Siqueira Filho received the stamps in person. He highlighted their symbolic significance for the conference, as well as Correios’ role at COP30 and its logistical capabilities. “These stamps underscore the importance of this event for Brazil and for the international community,” he said.
The Ministers of Culture, Ms. Margareth Menezes, and of Tourism, Mr. Celso Sabino, were also presented with commemorative issues as part of the official proceeding.
The COP30 Special Postal Issue stamps will be available for purchase on the Correios website and at major branches nationwide.
Additional Releases
Alongside the COP30 series, Correios also introduced stamps honoring Itaipu Binacional and Instituto Terra, both recognizing initiatives in environmental preservation and sustainable production. At the state-owned enterprise’s stand in the COP Green Zone, visitors can view the pieces and send themed postcards to other locations, reinforcing Brazil’s postal tradition and the symbolic experience of sending messages from the Amazon to the world.
