Applications are now open as of today, Monday, August 11, for panel proposals at the Brasil Pavilions during the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30).

Submitting proposals is one of the ways civil society can participate in the event, which will be held in Belém, Pará, from November 10 to 21. Proposals can be submitted until 11:59 p.m. (Brasilia time) on August 30.

This year, the selection process will include the Brasil Pavilions in both the Blue Zone and the Green Zone, which are coordinated by the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (Ministério do Meio Ambiente e Mudança do Clima/MMA) along with other federal government bodies.

The pavilions will bring together the Brazilian and international community to foster dialogue on tackling the climate emergency, the 30 strategic objectives of the Action Agenda, Brasil’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), and the Climate Plan. They will also host cultural events and exhibitions related to the conference themes.

In the Blue Zone, the focus will be on discussions related to the implementation of Brasil's NDC under the Paris Agreement in an international context.

In the Green Zone, debates will address issues relevant to Brazilian society, such as the implementation of the Climate Plan, which will guide Brasil's efforts to tackle climate change until 2035.

Events at the Brasil Pavilions will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with each event lasting a maximum of 50 minutes.

Interested parties should indicate the event's thematic focus, probable date, and the institutions involved as debaters and moderators. The goal is to broaden the plurality of discussions and views on climate change.

Due to high demand for space, there is a limit of one proposal per institution for each pavilion (one for the Blue Zone Pavilion and one for the Green Zone Pavilion).

Questions should be sent to: ascop30@mma.gov.br
