COP30 Presidency Unveils Cultural Program Blending History, Art, and Sustainability
Belém celebrates the conference by connecting architecture and sustainability across museums, squares, and theaters among its many attractions

During COP30, Belém will become a global cultural stage. From November 10 to 21, the Conference Presidency invites the public to explore historic venues and new expressions of Amazonian art. Throughout the city, theaters, museums, galleries, and public squares will host exhibitions, concerts, and performances celebrating the region’s diversity and creativity.
Belém flourished at the height of the rubber boom and became renowned for its European-inspired architecture. Today, the city is being revitalized through projects focused on sustainable development, such as the São Brás Market, restored with green technologies and powered by solar energy.

Among the new landmarks symbolizing this transformation is the recently inaugurated Museu das Amazônias (Museum of the Amazons), located in the Porto Futuro II Complex. Conceived as a hub for science, art, and traditional knowledge, the museum presents a living narrative of the many Amazons — forest, urban, riverside, and ancestral. With immersive exhibits, interactive collections, and educational programming, it has quickly become a key cultural reference and a global meeting point for dialogue on the future of the rainforest.
The COP30 itinerary also includes the historic Theatro da Paz — featuring a special program of music and opera — the AquaPraça, a floating installation on the Guamá River, the Banco da Amazônia Cultural Center, and the Museum of the State of Pará, among other venues where art and climate meet in conversation with the future.
The COP30 Cultural Program brings together the main events, venues, and schedules that will make Belém, in 2025, a global capital of culture and sustainability.
