Building the Financial and Ethical Foundations for a Just Transition
Saturday highlights finance as the key driver of the climate transition, focusing on unlocking catalytic capital to scale solutions and support those who need it most. The morning opens with the Integrated Forum on Climate Change and Trade, aligning economic systems with climate ambition and highlighting necessary financial and trade reforms. Simultaneously, a session on taxonomy interoperability will show how harmonized sustainable finance frameworks can unlock cross-border capital, especially for emerging markets.
Brazil and the Green Climate Fund will unveil new Country Platforms and a South–South Knowledge Hub to enhance coordinated investment planning and technical cooperation. The afternoon features the Open Coalition on Compliance Carbon Markets, alongside a ministerial on the Baku to Belém Roadmap to 1.3T, translating recommendations into pathways to mobilize USD 1.3 trillion annually.
The day concludes with the COP/CMP/CMA Plenary following SB63, formalizing SB outcomes and shifting from technical to political negotiations. Governments from across regions join forces to expand the Premium Flyers Solidarity Coalition, committing to introduce levies on premium air travel as a new source of finance for climate action, adaptation, and loss and damage. The event will also launch the Global Solidarity Levies Task Force Report: “The Untapped Potential of Solidarity Levies.”

This high-level session will demonstrate how countries, coalitions, and organizations are moving from ambition to delivery, embedding super pollutant mitigation into national strategies, investments, and sectoral plans. The event will showcase how fast action on super pollutants may be a cost-effective way to slow warming and deliver immediate benefits.

- 4:00PM - 7:00PM COP/CMP/CMA Plenary following the closure of SB63
The COP, CMP and CMA convene in a joint plenary to receive the reports from SBSTA 63 and SBI 63. During the session, Parties will formally move draft decisions from the Subsidiary Bodies into the main negotiating tracks, marking the transition from technical to political negotiations, paving the way for final decisions later in the COP.
