Note regarding COP30 kiosk and restaurant selection

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, following a technical review, an erratum was published regarding Bidding Notice No. 12060/2025 – OEI/SECOP. This notice concerns the selection of companies to operate restaurants at COP30. Pará's cuisine will be featured, and the menu will be announced after suppliers are chosen.
The published notice seeks to address:
• Collective enterprises, such as cooperatives, associations, solidarity networks, and local productive groups.
• Groups historically linked to the production of sustainable foods and socio-biodiversity, such as Indigenous Peoples, Quilombola communities, rural women, rural youth, and other traditional peoples and communities.
• Family farmers and the local economy, ensuring that at least 30% of the total value of acquired inputs comes from family farming, with incentives to exceed this percentage.
The menu for COP30 is the responsibility of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), as are any possible guidelines on food products. It must comply with national and subnational Sanitary Surveillance standards. The proposed menus may be adjusted to meet the bidding notice criteria, such as food diversity and participants’ safety. Any such recommendations apply exclusively to conference venues and do not extend to other locations in the city of Belém or the state of Pará.
SECOP and OEI aim to contribute to the development of these event supply guidelines, reflecting a commitment to productive inclusion, the promotion of sustainable food systems, and the recognition and appreciation of Pará’s culinary diversity, richness, and iconic gastronomic traditions.
This Tuesday, August 19, a public hearing will be held to hear from candidates for the COP food operations. This hearing reaffirms SECOP and OEI’s commitment to building inclusively while promoting the visibility and prominence of the cultures of the state and Amazônia.
