Organizations aspiring to establish pavilions at COP30, which is scheduled for November in Belém, the capital of the Brazilian state of Pará, must submit their Expression of Interest Form by July 22 to secure a space in the Green Zone. This initial step is essential for gaining approval to access the exhibition areas.

The Green Zone will feature thematic zones dedicated to vital aspects of a sustainable future, such as climate finance, innovation, biodiversity, youth engagement, and clean technologies. These themes are poised to significantly advance the global debate on climate change.

Mr. Olmo Xavier, project director at the Special Secretariat for COP30, an entity linked to the Office of the Chief of Staff  (Casa Civil) of the Presidency, aptly characterized the Green Zone as a "global showcase." "It functions as a dynamic platform for dialogue, innovation, and engagement," Mr. Xavier explained, "enabling a multitude of stakeholders to share experiences, solutions, and projects centered on sustainability, energy transition, bioeconomy, climate justice, and social inclusion."

According to the Secretariat's representative, the space also carries profound political and symbolic weight, reaffirming Brasil's steadfast commitment to the Paris Agreement, to climate justice, and to a development model that champions environmental respect alongside social and economic inclusion.

"For COP30, convening in Belém, Pará, in 2025, the Green Zone holds a strategic role for Brasil," he added. "It serves as an international display of the Amazônia's diversity and of Brazilian climate policies, thereby solidifying the nation's leadership in sustainable solutions and the urgent fight against climate change.

The Green Zone is intended for organizations and entities involved in climate action and sustainable development. These include local and regional governments, international and multilateral organizations, traditional communities, civil society, academic and research institutions, and the public and private sectors. This diversity is pivotal in fostering dialogue, sharing experiences, and finding collaborative solutions to the global climate emergency.

Why should people be in the Green Zone?

The space will be located next to the Blue Zone — the area coordinated by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which is accessible only to delegations accredited for official negotiations — thereby ensuring global visibility for institutions, facilitating meetings with high-level authorities, and creating opportunities for international partnerships.

Organizations will be able to showcase their initiatives in support of real solutions for decarbonization. This is a space to strengthen the institutional commitment to sustainability before a global audience.

The Approval Process

Selection for the COP30 Green Zone adheres to a clear, multi-stage approval process:

  • Submission of Expression of Interest via the designated form (link);

  • Initial Screening of all applications by the organizing committee;

    Detailed Review of all pre-selected applications;

  • Final Selection and Notification of approved applicants; and

  • Space Confirmation.

This methodical approach ensures diversity, thematic relevance, and a strong alignment with the core principles of the conference.

Pavilion layout

When completing the Expression of Interest Form, each organization will indicate its preferred type of Green Zone. Two distinct options are available:

  • Standardized Pavilions (Stands): Offered in Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers, these provide a pre-set structure complete with a defined layout, furniture, integrated visual communication, and fundamental support from event organizers. This option presents a practical and economical solution, ideally suited for exhibitors seeking a ready-to-use setup.

  • Customized Pavilions (Stands): These allow for exclusive scenography, affording participants complete creative freedom alongside dedicated technical support from the event team.

Pricing for exhibition spaces begins at USD 1,250 per m² for a Bronze stand. Silver stands cost USD 1,350 per m², and Gold stands cost USD 1,500 per m². The investment for customized pavilions is tailored to the needs of each exhibitor, with no set minimum or maximum price.

Customizable Additional Services

All Green Zone exhibitors gain access to a comprehensive menu of additional products and services, designed to enhance their presence. These include: food and beverages, visual design, equipment and furniture, human resources (such as hostesses and interpreters), real estate and vehicle rentals, live marketing activations, and immersive experiences.

These services can be conveniently contracted directly through the dedicated platform (www.cop30greenzone.com), offering extensive customization options to meet the unique requirements of each organization, applicable to both standardized and customized pavilions.

Every organization participating in the COP30 Green Zone will receive exclusive, specialized support throughout the entire event, from preparation to execution.
